Training Calendar

This course is for beginning users of the Office Suite.

The course consists of:

Identify the Word icon and access the programme.
Open an existing file either using the File:Open command or file list at the end of the File menu.
Understand the difference between Save and Save As. Can save into a designated folder.

• Highlight text using both the mouse and keyboard
• Perform the following operations: cut, copy and paste within and between documents.
• Change font and font size of chosen text.
• Bold, underline and italicise text. Be aware of the options on the Format: Font menu
• Know how to check the spelling of the document.
• Preview and print your document and change the margin, layout and orientation
• Left align,  right align, centre and justify text.
• Know how to insert a table and distinguish between rows and columns.
• Understand how to set tabs using the Format: Tabs option.
• Understand how to apply borders and shading to tables .
• Be able to use bullets and numbering
• Understand how to set up an Autotext entry
• Know how to use the Autocorrect facility
• Create headers and footers
• Know how to format paragraphs using indents, line spacing and spacing between paragraphs.
• Use Find and Replace
• Do Mail Merge (basic)
